Incontinence is common for New Zealand women

Nearly half of New Zealand women experience incontinence, but shouldn’t have to suffer in silence, a new (July 2024) University of Otago, Wellington study shows.

Published in the New Zealand Medical Journal, results show 43.5 per cent of women surveyed aged 16-74 reported at least some incontinence. This increased to 50 per cent for women aged 50-74.

While it was most common in women aged 50 and over, incontinence was also prevalent in those aged 16-29 (21 per cent).

A sustainable option

Kind to you and nature

The production of one reusable Efemia Bladder Support is equivalent to one day's consumption of single use incontinence pads (4 pads on average) in terms of carbon footprint.

By replacing incontinence pads with Efemia, you save an average of 29 kg of waste per year!
